Well folks these are exciting times around here. Firstly and secondly, the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos both won their games today. That will surely pump up local sports fans.
But if you're a philatelic buff you'll be just as pumped about upcoming events. On Monday, November 4th, representatives from Canada Post will give a presentation at the regular meeting of the Edmonton Stamp Club, where I'm sure that they will be answer all questions about what actually is supposed to happen to posted mail.
Then on the second Saturday of each month, from 10:00 to 4:00 at the Central Lions Recreation Centre (11113 113 Street, Edmonton), several local dealers will display their warez (I'm told that everyone under the age of 65 knows what this is), at the Edmonton Stamp Fair, and this is an excellent opportunity to meet local connections. The next Fair is Saturday, November 9th.
If that doesn't turn your crank then this will -- mark it on your calendar now so you don't forget: EDMONTON SPRING NATIONAL STAMP SHOW -- March 28 & 29, 2020. This year's theme is Celebrating 100 Years of the RCMP. This promises to be very rich in historical memorabilia. Come see me there. Less than 6 months away. Looking forward to seeing you there.
