I’M IN BIG BIG TROUBLE 👿 - THE MESSY PART TOLD!
Well if you recall the KNOCK KNOCK ✊ on the door was not a social call but the Family-in-law-member (handler of the estate) who had come to pick up the STAMP COLLECTION.
(STAMP COLLECTION: Basically postage which would be used to ship MJR’s product, packaged in “hard mailers”.)
A stocky white haired guy, about 65 years old and dressed in causal athletic wear appeared at the entrance. You could tell he was nervous and he seemed extremely frustrated. In other words HE DID NOT WANT to be at the MJR office!
So the explanation for “I’m in BIG BIG TROUBLE” began to flow from his lips, in a cracking voice. He started with saying, his brother-in-law was “very very” upset with him.
But, WHY? WHY?
He went on to add that he HAD NOT shown the stamp collection to his brother-in-law prior to selling.
The brother-in-law was “pissed off “😤 as he perceived the stamp collection to be worth “A TON OF MONEY”!
So a very uncomfortable 😳 situation was brewing between “this guy” and his brother-in-law! FURTHERMORE, GET THIS!! The mother-in-law was very perturbed 😡as well!
Now, can you visualize the conversation which occurred during “that family meeting”?
Brother-in-law: “WHY DID YOU NOT SHOW ME THE COLLECTION BEFORE YOU SOLD IT?”
Mother in law: “WHY DID YOU NOT SHOW YOUR BROTHER-IN-LAW THE COLLECTION BEFORE YOU SOLD IT?”
(Now let’s ponder this piercing question while speculating:
“What was the the family member’s long standing bride (daughter of the mother-in-law) response?” It almost felt that a triple barrelled shot gun was headed directly his way.
So the “BIG BIG TROUBLE” was over or - was it?)
Before the family member left, with the Stamp Collection (in tow), he asked the question, with some difficulty: “If my brother-in-law has no interest in the postage stamps would MJR fulfill their initial offer???”
I guess the best reply would have been: “SO GLAD, SO SAD, TOO BAD...” Or:
“HIT THE ROAD JACK AND DON’T COME BACK NO MORE NO MORE...”
Plus, how could I possibly check for MISSING items from the Stamp Collection. It was a large holding and I had only briefly examined it before having to return it to the family.
OK!! OK!! Let’s put everything in perspective with a question. “How is your family relationship with your Mother-in-law and your Brother-in-law”???
The Reply is Perhaps: “Great” or “Maybe needs a little work” or “Needs a lot of work” or “Don’t even ask”.
Consequently, this family member (who probably did not want to handle the estate in the first place) was in a predicament.
It’s like the LONE RANGER firing silver bullets at the “bad guy”. The significant differences are Mother-in-law and Brother-in-law are wearing Covid 19 masks 😷 rather than the black mask worn by the former Texas Ranger, Clayton Moore in the TV series Lone Ranger.
Despite some foreboding, I replied, YES, if the collection was left “as is” when returned, MJR would adhere to the initial offer.
The surprise ending “You Do Not WANT TO MISS”! THE BIG REVEAL, next Friday! In fact the first person to guess the bizarre outcome will receive a $30 credit from MJR’s website store.
WARNING: It’s complicated.
