WHO REMEMBERS WHEN THE “FAB FOUR” DRIFTED ACROSS THE POND AND DOCKED THEIR RAFT AT NEW YORK CITY?
EVEN EDDY S. REMEMBERS THAT EVENT.
AN UNFORGETTABLE SHOW! AN EVENT (FEBRUARY 9th, 1964) SULLIVAN BEGAN THE INTRODUCTION WITH:
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! ALL YOU YOUNGSTERS OUT THERE!
(Uncontrollable Screaming) ……….
A few collectors may have guessed The Beatles!
In 2022, Ed Sullivan (arms crossed) emphatically would say:
The Edmonton Stamp Club Show April 2nd & 3rd.
AND… This is going to be a Really BIG BIG Spring Show!
AT:
The Central Lions Recreation Centre,
Edmonton, Alberta 11113 133 Street
Saturday April 2nd, 10:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday April 3rd 10:00am to 4:00pm
Now, if you attend the ESC Show you may run into a MOP HEAD DRUMMER.
WHY YOU ASK?
Because MOP HEAD DRUMMER will be flopping his head side to side as he bounces from one Dealer’s table to another.
WHAT DO YOU THINK MOP HEAD IS LOOKING FOR?
Well MOP HEAD is a Postal History collector and early postmarks from Liverpool, England are his passion!
Perhaps you will see the “ghosts” of Benjamin Franklin and Franklin D. Roosevelt at the Show.
WHY YOU ASK?
Because both are serious Stamp collectors and are competing to purchase the #1, Canada’s first Stamp — The “Three Pense Beaver” Issued April 3rd, 1851.
HOW WILL THEY BATTLE THIS OUT?
To deter Ben from getting the prestigious Canadian Beaver stamp first, Frankie will say, “Go Fly a Kite”! And Ben does!
Benny also plans to deter Frankie from snatching that famed #1 Canadian Beaver stamp and offers FDR his newly invented bifocal glasses. Benny cries out…
“Try these on and look UP!
You’ll see my KITE!
Look HIGHER; you’ll see my KITE!
Look even higher!
You’ll be HIGHER than a KITE!”
No Beaver Stamps in Sight. HA!! HA!!
Now get this, it is anticipated that The Postcard Dude will meander over to MJR’s table with these questions.
1. Do you have RPPC’s, real photos, Linens, Chromes, Canadian, USA, Worldwide and Topical Postcards.
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! And more YESES!
2. Do you have Postal History Items,Territorial and ASSA Postmarks, FDC’s, First Flights, Registered Rates, Stampless, Advertising, Stamp Sheets, and more stuff?
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! And more YESES!
3. The Postcard Dude says “That’s not enough, what else?
Next week, surprise additions to this list.
